We’re caught up with Shane McGrath, AE Sales Team Lead, International Markets at deskbird on how they are working collaboratively with buyers inside trumpet Pods.

Why Trumpet?

  • Their previous tool was clunky and not user-friendly
  • Needed a more interactive and tailored solution for customers
  • Wanted a collaborative space rather than just a landing page
  • Required a tool that felt more modern and engaging

Who at deskbird is using trumpet?

  • The International & DACH Sales Team
    Expanding to:
  • Partners team (for partner portals)
  • Customer Experience team

Since using trumpet, deskbird has:

  • Dramatically reduced time spent on post-demo follow-ups (from 1.5 hours to 10 minutes per demo!)
  • Increased customer engagement through interactive features and collaborative spaces
  • Created a centralised repository for security and integration documentation, organising information sharing
  • Improved the presentation of sales materials with customisable, brand-consistent designs‍
  • Improved visibility into prospect interactions with sales content, meaning better follow-ups and deal progression

Deskbird is a leading provider of workplace management solutions, offering innovative tools to help businesses optimise their office spaces and enhance employee productivity.

The deskbird platform is making it simple for users to check office occupancy and adjust their schedules to see fit. With just two clicks, users can book a desk via mobile, desktop, Slack, or MS Teams – it's that easy, and it’s why employees love using deskbird!

We’ve had the pleasure of catching with Shane McGrath the AE Sales Team Lead for International Markets at deskbird. With his extensive experience in sales and a keen eye for efficient processes, Shane has been instrumental in implementing and leading trumpet to revolutionise deskbird's sales approach.

Dramatic time savings in the sales processes

One of the biggest significant benefits deskbird has experienced with trumpet is the substantial time savings in their sales processes. Shane says,

"What was originally taking me an hour and a half per demo is now taking me 10 minutes."

This efficiency gain allows their sales team to focus more on high-value activities and handle a higher volume of demos without sacrificing quality.

Not only that but trumpet has transformed how deskbird interacts with their potential clients. The platform's collaborative features have led to more engaging and interactive sales experiences, which keep deals moving forward and facilitate multi-threading within prospect organisations.

"My customers are actively commenting on stuff in the portal tagging other people sharing it. So it's definitely bridging those gaps for me."

Trumpet's flexible content organisation capabilities have allowed deskbird to create more intuitive and user-friendly sales materials. Shane particularly appreciates the ability to structure information effectively. "One of my favourite Widgets is actually the drop-down Widget... I use the FAQ drop-down to provide a post-demo recap under those three categories. I also have an FAQ drop-down beside it. That's like what you shared with us before the call." This more structured approach has helped prospects easily find and digest relevant information, contributing to a smoother sales process.

‍

Centralised security and integration

Deskbird has used trumpet to create a comprehensive repository of security and integration documentation, addressing a common pain point in the sales process. Shane explains:

"Every one of our pods has a security and integration section, right? So there's a couple of FAQs here, but it has every doc that could ever be requested."

This approach not only saves time for the sales team but also instills confidence in prospects by providing easy access to critical information.

Customisation and brand consistency

Trumpet's customisation capabilities have allowed deskbird to create sales materials that align perfectly with their brand identity. Shane appreciates this flexibility: "The fact that we could use our own font in this as well... the fact that we can in yours is incredible."  This level of customisation ensures that all customer-facing materials maintain a consistent and professional look, reinforcing deskbird's brand throughout the sales process.

As deskbird continues to integrate trumpet into its sales processes, they're exploring ways to expand its use. Shane envisions potential applications with SMB deals and possibly extending to customer success and onboarding processes:

‍

"I can see this becoming more embedded with how we streamline SMB deals. So how do we take it from like multi-touch to two touches, manage it all through the Digital Sales Room, almost make it self serve."

With the significant improvements already realised in their sales processes, deskbird is poised to further use trumpet's capabilities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across their customer-facing operations.
